Assassin's Creed Unveils Unexpected AoT Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a surprising collaboration that defies usual expectations, the game developer has announced an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Mission Disclosed
According to the authorized release, "A strange confrontation draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where rumors of prohibited practices and fearsome metamorphoses echo through the shadows." The plot presents a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who charges the pair with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a clandestine group.
The questline centers on "peculiar experiments and a terrifying adversary" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Iconic Places and Transformations
The teaser features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview concludes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, presumably the captive, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Rewards and Bonus Content
Players who finish the mission will receive an exclusive katana in addition to multiple objects hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-based costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Special arms
- Survey Corps mount
Newest Free Story Addition
This patch also brings the game's newest free story addition, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature skills: Naoe reveals a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Enigma" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
